Europa League: Round 3
Victor Salinas

Job Title: Physiotherapist
Date of Birth: 17th April 1977
Birthplace: Murcia - Spain
Nationality: Spanish
Joined: Since 2006

After several years learning his trade in his native Spain, Victor made the move to Melwood during the 2005-06 season.

He has since developed into an invaluable member of the medical team with his primary role involving working as a physiotherapist and osteopath for the first-team squad.

He travels with Rafael Benitez and his players to many of the Reds' away matches as the second physio and picks out the FA Cup triumph in 2006 as well as the World club Championship and Champions League final of 2007 as the highlights of his Liverpool career so far.

"Every morning that I arrive here and realise I am working at Melwood with Liverpool is just an amazing feeling," he said.

"My job is to prepare the players for training, to work with the injured players and to play my part in the fantastic backroom team we have at Liverpool.

"When a player is injured he is assigned to one of the physios at the club and it is then that person's job to liaise with other members of the medical and coaching staff until the player is fit to return.

"Initially I came here for one season but I love it at this club and see my future here. I would give everything about it 10 out of 10."

Victor's path to Melwood began when he graduated as a physiotherapist from Murcia University before going on to study at the school of osteopathy in Madrid.

His first job in football came with Spanish third division side Deportivo Bala Azul, with whom he spent one season before moving to take up a post as physio with Ciudad de Murcia in 2000, where he spent four years.

The following season he went to Cartagena Promesas before being appointed as a physio at Liverpool in 2005.
